When the Nigerian musician, Adekunle Gold dropped an album in June 2016 titled Gold, I doubt if he knew he was indirectly speaking with our houses of religion. He spoke to them in the track titled, ARIWO Ko Ni Music.
The noise made by churches and mosques with loudspeakers mounted outside their respective places of worship is to a large extent unfeeling of the interests of the generality of the people.
What beats one’s imagination is that it is always the small places of worship that are the guiltiest of this crime. Crime because I know that, at least, one state has passed laws against the primitive irritation.
Talk of empty barrels making the loudest noise?
A pastor said the really blessed houses of worship do not need to make noise. Those houses of God led by wannabes really do want to impress.
By the way, who are we making noise to. Is it to man or God?
There is a proliferation of churches. That’s a very great development. When all fail, God can not and will never fail. But then, are we really worshipping God?
What I mean is that, I don’t think God loves confusion. Anywhere there is noise, confusion is certainly not far from there. I would rather serve God in a serene environment.
When the religious groups have vigils, I wonder how people who do not belong to those religious groups can sleep.
In some streets, there are religious houses, especially churches, at every other house. If half of them decides to have vigil on a particular night, how will it look like?
Incidentally, the traditional worshippers may not be guilty of this. However, their own guilt falls in the area of disturbing traffic.
Like I said earlier, my own God does not like noisemaking, does yours’?
