Legislators in Nigeria are doing well in Nigeria’s well of murky waters. They really represent us as a people.
So, how many days in a year do they spend in the office?
Out of those days, what quality time do they use to serve the people?
It’s all about their selfish interests. But by this, they are representing us.
The other day, it was about vehicles. They must ride the poshest of cars while we are lacking.
Yes, we lack food, our children are out of school, and those who are in school are lacking a good education, our roads are not good, we cannot go to our farms because of adultnappers, and we lack pipe-borne water.
Now, it’s about how much each legislator got from the commonwealth.
All in the service of the people!
No be so?
That’s why we are ready to fight our blood brothers because of them and the miserly empowerment they’ll give us for their four years in office.
We can even go berserk because of them.
In the end, they’ll share the little crumbs of garri from their tables, and we’ll be happy ever after.
Then off to Abuja they’ll go!
They are really serving our dumb selves!
If not, why not?
Even if we’re not riding luxury cars, we’ll be consoled that they are riding such vehicles on our behalf.
At least they spend some time sitting on committees for our common interests. Even then, they behaved as if they were doing us a favour and as if the money spent on the projects was from their pockets.
Our governing institutions reflect who we are. That’s why a people will always deserve its ruling elite.
PS: Apparently, in obedience to the rule that politics is simply defined as the art of who gets work, they are getting everything on our behalf!
