Some of us might not have noticed what is, perhaps, the new craze in town. And it could be as crazy as craze could be.
In those good old days, if some people were so unfortunate to be involved in an automobile accident, for example, people ran helter-skelter to save the lives of the usually unknown victims.
Then, we seemed to have a mutual agreement to protect strangers wherever we went. It seemed to be a long time ago when we used to empathize with people we never knew from Adam.
The cliché then was to be our brothers’ keepers!
However, the song seems to have changed with the arrival of cell phones. The cellphone itself is a problem.
An artisan who, after collecting a lump sum from a client, could tell the client he is busy buying materials for the client’s job while he is busy taking a new wife with the client’s ‘donation’.
However, that’s not even the thrust of this post. I am particularly concerned about our savage display of misplaced priority when someone is involved in an accident.
These days, it is popular to grab our cell phones and switch on the cameras. We then start shooting the scenes of the accidents.
In most cases, we tend to forget about the precious lives of human beings. We get our pictures.
But human lives are lost!
We should have a rethink!!
