I read with utmost happiness Omoyele Sowore’s release from an unjust incarceration yesterday.
Before anything else, one should congratulate Sowore for his steadfastness. As a victim of several detentions, I know he understands that the struggle for democracy in a developing country like Nigeria is anything but easy.
But then, one must not forget to congratulate President Mohammed Buhari on his never-too-late conversion to one important tenet of democracy: obedience to court orders.
I pray he does what is necessary in the cases of Dasuki, El Zakzaky, and others languishing unnecessarily in several jail houses in Nigeria.
Nigeria needs a revolution, a task that must be done now!
When one calls for a revolution, we’re talking about how we think and do things.
