Sugar is used to sweeten things. However, when taken too much, it might cause hemorrhoids.
According to stories being peddled around by those who knew him, the late Temitope Olatoye, a.k.a. sugar had always had it coming.
He had attempted to be the students union president of the Federal College of Education in Osiele, a quiet town on the outskirts of Abeokuta, according to sources. He was however schemed out of the race.
He then went on to join the Odua People’s Congress. He later found succor as a hit man in the PDP government of OGD.
He was said to be very successful at the evil venture!
He was so successful that Egba chiefs were said to have chased him away from Abeokuta. When he left Abeokuta, he went to his home state of Oyo.
He contested and won election into the Oyo State House of Assembly in 2011. He was later to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives. He also won that in 2015.
However, when he contested for his party’s seat in the Senate in 2019, he failed.
He was said to have left that party to join another. But according to sources, he knew too much for his life to be spared.
He was therefore shot yesterday by thugs said to be representing another politician.
But then, while some have been trying to justify his death as due to karmic effects, I beg to differ.
In the first place, did the people not know him to be a thug before voting for him to represent them? Second, what about the governor he served?
In any case, I believe that any accused person should have their day before a properly constituted court of law.
Why was Sugar never arrested?
If we continue saying that anyone who lives by the sword must die by the sword, it will surely lead to a state of chaos.
We, the people, couldn’t be more careful in picking our representatives!
