When we really look at it, a community of peoples actually constitute the largest tribe of human beings.
It’s however unfortunate that in most cases, most of them would be unwilling to join the tribe. But then, as a result of the fact that the situation does not augur well in their lands of birth, they are forced to leave.
I’m referring to immigrants!
Most of them are forced to leave their countries for better lives, especially in situations where their lives are being threatened.
In many cases, they are just not sure of what their tomorrows might bring but then they believe whatever will come in a foreign land will certainly be better than what they are running away from.
Some leave wives, husbands, children, parents, other loved members of their families and friends with the hope that they will send for them when things get better in the unknown lands they are departing into. Some of them won’t hesitate to return to their countries once things get better.
Departure itself is actually traumatic. It varies from running the risk of being sold into slavery in countries like Libya, to running the risk of being killed in the desert by hunger or by wild animals or to having their boats torpedoed in the Mediterranean sea.
Some of them face the brunt of being treated with indignity. But then, some of them are lucky to be treated like human beings which they are by a few other countries.
Being forced to live outside ones birthplace is actually not too funny. But then, one of the first principles of human nature is self protection.
Once they get settled in their new countries of abode, most of them try to blossom in terms of productivity. They give themselves further training so as not to be found wanting.
But then, it would have been a lot better if the ruling class in most countries could actually lead well. This is more so in the case of African countries.
However, a lot depends on the citizens!
