“With much respect, any other interpretation different from this will lead to absurdity, chaos, anarchy, and alteration of the very intention of the legislature.”
I heard a lawyer to Mr Tinubu said this to the election Tribunal.
I deliberately restrained myself from commenting on matters relating to the disappointment called presidential elections in Nigeria because since the matter is before the courts, I felt we should wait whether justice can be done in the tribunal.
However, since the statement has gone viral, I just thought I should air my own opinion.
In the first instance, the lawyer accepts there could be other interpretations. But his using the word “will” to me seems like expressing an “inevitable” event.
He goes on to use some rather strange words for a democracy, “….absurdity, chaos, anarchy, and alteration…”
Is he threatening the tribunal?
So, why was the tribunal set up? To further cement the alleged winning with a pat on the back?
By the way, those who are not living on Mars know that Nigerians are now living in “absurdity, chaos, and anarchy.”
The very purpose of the tribunal, I believe is to give justice to the winner of the election.
On Obi I stand!
