Are the Muslims in Nigeria enjoying the Ramadan?
I asked the question because of my past. Yes, my not too long ago past.
Then, birds cried like birds and rats squeaked like rats.
incidentally, the Christians are also in the final stage of the Lenten season.
But, would I be right in saying there’s hardly any need for fasting by Citizen Muda, a representative of the man in the street.
Citizen Muda is already in a state of permanent hunger, not because he chose to but because “the streets are not laughing”.
In those days, people actually prepared for the Ramadan and the Lenten season.
Most of our children would not know there used to be a largest size of cocoa beverage, which one of them would know there used to be a larger size of milk?
Then, we were fortunate to watch the Ajiwere, they would rouse Muslims during the sari, “dawnfast”. Muslims would be entertained with songs by the Ajiwere.
So, what has happened to all these?
We made bad choices and we’re suffering for our choices.
A rooster has perched on a rope, it’s not been okay for either the bird or the rope it’s perching on.
Let’s make the right choice in 2023!
