Oh yes, the Yoruba say if we could gather as we gather for the dead for the ailing, nobody will die.
I agree that’s an exaggeration, but if we could just take care about each other much more, I would think more lives could be saved.
I posted an item about social media ranting sometime last week, not knowing a musician was about to die the same day.
For those who didn’t know, the post was out of my own troubled personal experience.
It has emerged that the guy made some scary posts on his social media handles, but what did his acquaintances do?
Absolutely nothing!
He even reported a matter to his honorable the IG of police. What did he do?
Nothing!
In fact, I very much doubt if the IG saw the letter!!
For how long shall we continue in pretense?
This especially goes to the men. It’s believed that it’s very unmanly for a man to show his emotions in public.
It’s possible that one of the reasons men tend to die before their wives is because we bottle up too much of our emotions. I guess it’s time men should start speaking out.
In some societies, it’s taboo for men to cry in public.
And for the rest of us, the earlier we started giving more thoughts to other people, the better it would be for our society.
The way to show our humanity is by CARING!
