So Cheap? – Adewale Sobowale

I’ve been hearing some, ‘testing, testing’, not, by the regular musicians, but this time by the landlord of Lagos who lives in Bourdillon.

Thankfully enough, the man has denied being responsible for the face caps and shirts proclaiming his interest in the 2023 presidential elections of Nigeria.

Some people normally say politics in Lagos is very enlightened. Others say it is very complex.

I beg to disagree with these infantile if not asinine claims. Let’s look at it, why must a state as enlightened as Lagos be subject to the whims and fances of one man?

To worsen the situation, the supposedly educated folks are at the vanguard of these savior worship.

There’s no doubting the fact that the man happened to be a June 12 hero. Even that, when measured against emerging news of roles played by individuals could end up as being false.

What I’m mainly concerned about is the fact that a president is yet to stabilize and succession plans seem to be on.

Could we be serious?

Everyone knows I’m not Buhari’s fan. But then, since we have elected him, could we let him finish his term before even thinking of a succession plan?

For crying out loud, the man is even yet to announce his cabinet.

Are we so cheap as a people that all we want is change for it’s own sake?

I’ll end this post by giving an Egun admonition,

‘De de mirawo o!’
