I’ve always maintained that you don’t really need a certificate to qualify as a candidate for an election.
It negates the principle of democracy. The basic principle of democracy is the most popular person winning a free and fair election.
That’s why most of the western democracies don’t have educational requirements in their electoral laws.
Our trying to qualify candidates for elections by their certificates is just like we are not concerned about the popularity of the candidates.
It could be called a sort of elitism.
Maybe that’s one of the reasons why we don’t have responsible governance!
