The average Yoruba should be wisdom personified. That’s because embedded in the tradition and culture of the Yoruba are words of wisdom and wisecracks that could serve the discerning for a lifetime.

One of these is that the egungun festival will end and acolytes who had been eating like royalty will soon join run-of-the-mill folks.

When people who are less than ordinary come into money which they never worked for, they lavish it on orgiastic parties, automobiles, private jets, and general impulsive shopping.

Most of the nouveau riche even end up spraying currency at parties to which they are only mogbomoyas.

Meanwhile, it’s a case of either the laws not having adequate provisions or the practitioners looking the other way.

But thank God for saner climes, the hands of justice end up closing in on these spendthrifts.

How can someone from a country where most people don’t know where the next meal will come from be spraying dollars at whatever occasion?

More often than not, it has been discovered the money was illegitimately earned.

We really do need to rethink this culture of spraying!!!
