I hear the youth of Kabba proved their authenticity yesterday. They have proved themselves to be great individuals.
They are great Nigerians.
By their actions, they have succeeded in telling the ruling class in Nigeria that they can no longer fool the greater part of the Nigerian nation.
I learnt the singing senator, despite his donation, was pelted with stones, satchets, and whatever came into the young peoples’ hands.
The gomina, in his own case, was said to have retreated. You know the Yoruba say that when one’s mates are dying, one should be very cautious.
The gomina couldn’t have been more cautious. Having been privileged to receive security reports from his security details who promptly informed him that he should beat it.
And beat it he did. He had to send his donation through some intermediary.
Personally, I believe the youth were displaying their frustrations. Yes, disappointments over unpaid salaries, their not having feelings of self fulfilment, underrepresentation, unfulfilled dreams, etc.
So, the gomina will remain governor of his state house. While our singing senator might have realised the fact that his people are not fascinated by his antics in Abuja.
I think the Kabba show is instructive to our unrepresenting representatives. They should either perform or lose whatever credibility they still have.
By the way, Kogi used to be a silent place. In fact, it was hardly expected that such an act could have occurred there. If it could happen in Kogi, representatives in other states must buck up.
The youth have shown that they will not suffer fools gladly!
