The problems of Nigeria is championed by one weakness. That weakness is not being able to talk or ask questions at the right time.
The ever wise Yoruba say that ‘Ai le soro ni bere ori buruku’. That is failure to talk, ask questions or even make one’s feelings known is beckoning at ill luck.
The introduction of television sets to 1000 viĺlages by the Nigerian government is really appropriate. It’s part of the next level where the government is taking us to.
For a people who have the best type of agricultural facilities, this next level is the finest thing that could ever happen to the people. Indeed, there are state of the art agricultural estates in Nigeria.
Education wise, Nigeria has become a Mecca of the whole world. So many people are itching to come and learn at the feet of Nigerian masters in well equipped schools.
The workers are receiving the best emoluments in the whole world. Many foreigners are thronging Nigerian embassies throughout the world just to be allowed to come and work in Nigeria.
In fact, as I’m writing this, some people are complaining about too much electricity. The power holders are no longer holding power. Rather, they have decided to supply electric power throughout the federation.
As a result of all these, the naira is now the king of all currencies. A common twenty kobo now exchanges for a pound sterling.
So, why can we not stay glued to our television sets in the villages where there is light?
Indeed, after a good day’s job on the farm, why Not?
