It’s no longer news that I’m a t’orí t’orùn PObi supporter.
And, you can take that to the cashless bank.
I’m still against those who refer to a Yoruba wise saying while persuading me to change my mind and dump my preferred candidate for a Yoruba candidate.
In the first instance, I’m looking for a candidate who appears to be the most suited for the job. Even if a candidate had previously done well and becomes controversial due to his alleged corruption and failure to disclose certain information about his life, I wouldn’t have voted for him.
Second, I don’t do parapọ̀ (tribal) politics.
Experience has shown that those who get elected only feather their immediate families and maybe a few others’ nests.
Maybe the last is someone who is a so–called leader of a failing party and says he’s going to continue the failing party’s deeds and on the other hand goes about condemning the party, like the BAT, can’t ever appeal to me.
On a moral level, a good candidate can’t afford to be running with the hares and hunting with the hounds.
It’s about time we started changing some Yoruba sayings!
