There are so many things that happen to us as a matter of course.
They happen just like that!
Our parents met, they courted. They consequently got married.
Just like that!
After a nine month pregnancy, our mothers went into labour, and we were given birth to.
Just like that!
From babies we grew into infancy. We entered jeleosinmi, day care classes. From there, we went into the nursery classes and further on to the primary classes.
Just like that!
We did entrance examinations to various secondary schools. We were finally accepted into one of them.
Just like that!
We were in secondary school where we specialised in either arts, commercial or science classes.
We sat for our school certificate examinations. We made good grades.
Just like that!
Through JAMB, we secured admission into a tertiary institution. We matriculated in the higher institutions of our choice.
Just like that!
We studied painstakingly. We then had our degrees conferred on us during convocation.
Just like that!
We participated in the NYSC scheme.
Just like that!
We went for postgraduate studies.
Just like that!
Nigeria is in recession. Even then, we secured the finest jobs.
Just like that!
We started making positive impacts on the society.
Just like that!
We started courting the most beautiful/handsome persons in town.
Just like that!
We had the ‘wowest’ weddings. In fact, our’s was the wedding to beat.
Just like that!
The kids started coming.
Just like that!
We became grandparents.
Just like that!
We would pass away from this transient world.
Just like that!
But then, there is one important thing we’ve left undone. We just have to believe in one Supreme Being. He is omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent.
I believe in the Christian God. And He has been faithful!
I’m sorry, this may not necessarily happen just like that. We have to make conscious efforts.
Go on…..
