I believe we should congratulate each other for our respective reactions to this novel virus. But the congratulations will, of course, be limited to those who have sincerely given and citizens who have shown a lot of resilience to disappointments.
I particularly praise the citizens because they deserve much better treatments from those governing them. I realize they might have made grave mistakes in choosing their so called leaders.
However, I wouldn’t think the citizens would have had an inkling that their leaders would have been so heartless in locking them at home without any provisions for their sustenance.
To add salt to the people’s injuries, the leaders sent security agents to summarily punish whoever violated their stay at home orders.
I sincerely believe asking people to stay at home without providing food for them is the highest act of inhumanity. Of course, that gave way for crime of various sorts.
I don’t have any problem with state at home order or social distancing but provisions have to be made for the people.
I know Nigerians now understand what true leadership means!
