I learn the governor of the Nigerian state of aquatic splendor, Mr Sanwoolu, recently caused to be announced that, to be admitted into secondary schools in his state, pupils must be at least twelve years of age.
Well, I really understand the concerns of the state government. Yeah, I do because I was once in the system.
But then, until I get to know how democracy went into play before the decision was arrived at, I have mixed feelings.
Was the state house of assembly involved? If it was, did members of the house go back to their constituents to have their say so after familiarizing them with the intentions of government?
Until these questions are answered, I want to believe the decision of Mr Sanwoolu is dictatorial. Hence, my decision to refer to him as a general!
