Jose Marinho is a household name among football enthusiasts. His popularity soared even further with Chelsea’s 2-0 win over PSG on Tuesday.
Although Chelsea is a fantastic team, people generally felt they would meet their Waterloo in PSG. But that was not to be.
In their first-leg match, PSG had trounced Chelsea by three goals to one. They felt victory would have been theirs if they had maintained the status quo on Tuesday.
So, they played defensive soccer. In other words, they were more interested in protecting what they had than in scouting for more goals.
That is where they committed harakiri.
They did not reckon with Marinho, the master planner. To Marinho, what was worth doing at all was worth doing well.
He went into the game with four attackers. Of course, the rest is history.

In the first instance, he did not belong to APC. He is too vocal and controversial to be. I doubt if he was not a mole.
I think it would serve APC leaders well. It would teach them that while poaching could be okay in politics, the wheat must first be sifted from the chaff.
As for FFK, it is now time to enjoy the fruits of his deceitful labour. A paper speculated that he would soon become a Special Adviser in Aso Rock.
