Just felt I should say my bit about the Osun state election.
We should not forget the fact that democracy is a game of numbers. The operative sentence is:
The rule of the people by the people for the people!
It doesn’t specify education, wealth or even common sense.
As long as a candidate is popular enough to win most of the votes, he becomes elected.
That’s why political scientists say a people deserves their leader.
That’s also why most countries in the advanced world do not have educational qualification for candidates seeking elections.
Having said that, I don’t believe the governor to–be will be so foolish not to consult those who know better than he does.
I say congratulations and wish him the very best.
