Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow says all City of Toronto contracts valued at less than $353,000 will now be awarded to Canadian firms only amid a trade war with the United States.

CP24 reports that Chow also said she plans to present a motion to the executive committee and to the council that, if approved, would bar US companies from future Toronto contracts. She also revealed that while US contracts only amount to about 10 per cent of the city’s $60b capital  budget, we must stay “strong in our principles.”

She said the city is taking a “Team Canada approach” when it comes to the ongoing trade war with our neighbours to the south
