All these talks about appointments of media people shows the lack of seriousness inherent in our political space.
In the first instance, both of them are eminently qualified to occupy the respective posts. The last time I checked, the political appointees who appointed them had the right to appoint just anyone they deemed fit to occupy those positions.
I heard some hailers were complaining that critics of this government aren’t qualified to enjoy dividends of democracy not to talk of such posts which they presume to be big.
Let them keep quiet!
By the way, I believe hailers who know how to play their balls do get paid. When they are paid, they are being paid for services rendered.
Once that has been done, does government owe them any other thing?
But then I find their behavior rather infantile. They might even be baby colic.
But a question one should ask them is whether with every post given a hailer, there’ll be something for the ‘boys’?
Why must we leave more pertinent issues and be dwelling on mundane issues.
I think the earlier we started tasking our rulers on issues like security, education, agriculture, food security, and so on, the better it will be for us!
