Some men of “God” – as if the others were men of the devil – kept telling me that I should be one of them. My reply had always been that I’d not been called.
However, to their surprise, I received the call!
Yes!
I did!!
But wait o, who and what called me and when was I called?
I must confess that my stomach called me today. It reminded me this is January and I must be a man of god.
I asked it why?
It reminded me this is the month churches rob the ignorant of their salaries saying they are collecting first fruit.
I’ve seen a so-called god of men preaching to his dadandindin laity that the first fruit belongs to him.
The society that was first told to bring their first fruits was an agrarian population. The word “first” is a point of reference. It does not mean “all’.
But then, some of our people are suffering from chronic religious addiction, so they are free-basing while the rest of us are second-basing! The opportunity cost of first fruits is failure to feed their families, failure to pay house rent, failure to pay school fees, etc. Meanwhile, it’s the foolish person who puts on the igunnuko masquerade’s mask, the wise one will always be an atokun.
Something tells me that when they get the money, they’ll go to Jerusalem and spend it on freeing the people!!
Until we free ourselves from the yokes of politicians and daddy g.o.s, peace and development may be things of tomorrow!!!
