While others are returning from correctional facilities in a sober and sombre mood, Nigerians made a show of the great Ogirigborigbo of the universe’s return from a British prison. No less a personality than a seating senator of the Federal Republic led the welcome party which was held somewhere in the UK.
What’s so special about a politician being imprisoned, like the distinguished senator rightly said? After all, the great Madiba went to jail. Even, back home, the Ebora of Owu kingdom too, went to prison in the days of the goggled one.
I know our great homeboy do good, was framed up. He cannot be fraudulent. He could never have been a shoplifter.
About money laundering, what’s wrong in keeping government money in the state governor’s personal account. Like ex-governor Bakin Zuwo exclaimed, mi a faru?
The oyinbo people just wanted to give a dog a bad name to hang him. They had known all along that he is destined for great deeds.
The British know he is a kingmaker. I am using the present tense advisedly. This is because while he was in the UK jail, he was able to pick major officers of the national assembly amongst others.
Apart from being an oracle, the man is simply a miracle. A miraculous oracle if not an oracular miracle.
He is a Robin Hood because he fed the poor when he was Governor. But he did not steal from the rich. Rather, he liberated government funds to feed the poor and even the rich.
Is that not a good thing? Even if the people were eating the crumbs from his table, as long as it went round, that was democratic enough.
They never had it so good. In actual fact, they wanted to have him as governor for life.
Meanwhile, we have already prepared a series of aso ebi for his homecoming. One is to meet him at the airport. The other is for his Thanksgiving in a church in Delta State. There is yet another one for his thank-you tour throughout the country.
