Taking chances…Adewale Sobowale

I love taking chances.

If you say I take risks, you’ll not be far from the truth. I particularly love risking my ALL with people.

I’m comforted by the fact that a school of thought believes that the world itself is a risk. That stand is particularly relevant in this age.

It’s as if we’re not sure of tomorrow. We aren’t sure of what the next minute has in its kitty.

With wars, conflicts and political and economic instabilities virtually everywhere, maybe the best we could do is asking who’s next on the queue?

But then, some of us still believe in people.

I have this garment maker who used to sew my clothes back then. I just tried to see if the economic situation in my country hasn’t changed him. So, after asking for some samples, I chose a few.

He told me everything will be done in a week. He spent a total of eight days because of the electric power situation.

When he finished, he took the pains to go look for shipping agents and I have the garments now.

I just wanted to thank Akeem Okeola Ajibola of Today’s Styles for not using Ede to ba Oode je. For those who don’t understand Yoruba, the meaning of the saying is not using a minor thing to ruin a long-standing relationship.

Experience has taught me to appreciate little things Nigerians do in spite of the economic hardship. Indeed, if you’re a good person, nothing in the world will stop you from being good.
