I can still recall the issue of Nigeria’s Afro Juju artiste who made a grammatical faux pas in the eighties. Since anything a star does becomes popular, his own case wasn’t different.
Predictably, his next album was on that issue. As fate would have it, the record became a best seller.
Now, in the advanced nations, hardly do their constitutions mention anything about educational qualifications in order to be elected for a public post. I believe the fathers of their respective nations believed that should be left to the people.
In actual fact, I do believe if a person could be so popular as to get elected among knowledgeable people, they obviously believe he’s got something to offer.
But in the case of Nigeria, it’s certainly another ball game. And, that’s possibly why we’re making motion without movement.
Ours is a case of much ado about nothing!
