The Pharmaceutical Society of Nigeria is against Nigeria’s importation of Madagascar’s COVID 19 herbal drug.
Well, there’s a Yoruba saying which is k’okunrin r’ejo, k’okunrin pa, ani k’ejo sa ti ku, which means the end will always justify the means.
In other words, we all want this deadly virus to be gotten rid of as soon as possible. By the way, will the society have been against a vaccine by the World Health Organization?
The government has already extended open hands to medical and herbal solutions from Nigeria. I would have thought the society should have stepped up efforts to encourage its members in forwarding all drugs to NAFDAC.
The painful thing however is it’s like the society is still living in the past. It describes Nigeria as a leading nation in Africa and so shouldn’t be seen as condescending to the low of importing drugs from smaller nations. With recent occurrences, I wouldn’t think that’s a correct view.
Meanwhile, we should seek proper help from every nation to rid the nation of the killer virus while, at the same time, stepping up research in our research institutes as well as finding herbal cures.
The end will certainly justify the means!
