Greying Patches! – Adewale Sobowale

I wonder why some of us would go to the extent of dying the grey patches on our heads.

The Yoruba believe grey hair is a sign of assuming an elderly status, while beards are a sign of growing old.

I particularly love the grey patches of wisdom. Those who are wise wear them with so much dignity.

It’s not embarrassing to be elderly, of course. As I wrote in a post, people even defer to people with grey hair or bald heads because they believe wisdom emanates from both features.

As far as I’m concerned, dye sellers can’t do business with me.

Some even go to the extent of lying about their ages.

Haha!

I don’t believe God made a mistake to let us be procreated when we were. My bible says there’s a time for everything.

When it’s time to retire, let things happen naturally. The God, our Lord, who provides for the birds and ants will surely provide for us.

As for those who are still rocking in their old ages, aye l’Oyinbo nje ku.

Let’s remember that even if we shampoo our birth certificates, we, definitely, can’t shampoo our bones!
