Fianna Fail, an Irish political party, may propose that asylum seekers who commit serious crimes should be deported.
The Irish Independent reports that the party has come up with a policy document on immigration in which this is written.
The report is also calling for legislation against destruction of passports when entering the country and seeking international protection. Similarly, the report calls for an increase in the fines of airlines and ferries that fail to ensure passengers have a valid passport when they arrive in Ireland.
The document is also calling for migrant tent encampments to be banned and a government policy to be tasked with ensuring that they do not appear again.
It also includes measures on faster decision-making and the sharing of responsibility across member states.
