The market places are agog.

No seller can honestly say they don’t have would-be buyers. It’s only the actual buyers that may not be forth coming. Even the chicken processors are in good business.

See, the Id’el fitri is a chicken celebration.

Chicken hawkers are busy, layers, broilers, etc.

The chickens themselves are putting up their best behaviours. They seem to have vowed not to give anybody a single problem. So the alarobos (middlemen), actual sellers, processors, and the buyers never have a problem with them.

The poor chickens seem to have made a vow to go to the gallows without complaints.

And of course, when chicken sells, those other things will sell as well.

Rice is being bought in their bag loads. So are other food items.

Stew and soup ingredients too are transferring hands, maggi, royco, tyme, curry, pepper tomatoes onions, colouring, etc., from sellers to buyers.

Some cloth sellers are making some business. However, they would definitely have wished to be in the place of chicken sellers.

Only a few people are buying frozen food. It’s like there’s an order from above to boycott refrigerated foods.

Even fresh fish – obokun has refused to sell.

Not too far away, two ladies are begging for transport fare. It’s like they are not prepared for what they met at the motor park.

When it’s celebration time, the transporters hike their prices.

You know, odun ti de, commuters must be subjected to a lot of hassles.

The beer depot near the market took delivery of a new stock yesterday. However, by midday today, they are already looking for ways of satisfying their customers.

Only one or two rams get sold. Even the religious cassette seller didn’t get any customer.

The alarobos, middlemen are doing good business. There could not be a better day for the alabarus, carriers.

They came in their scores. Women, ladies, girls, tiny lasses plus a few men.

What did they not buy?

Egan ni he!

The person who says market is not moving is definitely not in the market.
