Kyrgyzstan’s speaker, Nurlanbek Shakiev, has called on Russia to reduce anti-migrant sentiments. Kyrgyz Republic is a landlocked country in eastern Central Asia.
24KG reports that the speaker stated this at the 57th plenary session of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in Petersburg. he emphasized that terrorism has no nationality or ethnicity, so it is necessary to combine efforts to create mechanisms that ensure te safety and legality of labour migration. He also noted the importance of continuing work to reduce anti-migrant sentiments in society, strengthening friendship and mutual understanding between people.
He believes the proposal to give foreigners the right to receive preschool and school education in Russia only on a paid basis needs to be corrected. Schools play a vital role in the adaptation of migrants, helping both children and their parents integrate into society.
Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matviyenko said that the state should verify the migration policy in the Russian Federation. According to her, laws tightening migration legislation are not aimed at fighting someone but at restoring order in the country.
