So Mo Age Mi! – Adewale Sobowale

When you see cheating and you do know it’s cheating, if you choose to condone it, I don’t know what other name to call you but a fool.

Although I had every food item in the house, I just felt the preparation would be too stressful. In the first instance, I happen to be an early riser. And the first thing I look for is the kettle to prepare my early morning coffee which has become habitual.

I do that after my prayers but before having my bath. In most cases, I do go out with only that black liquid in my tummy.

A similar thing happened today. But by 1.30 pm I was already feeling hungry. So, I went into a restaurant. If you asked me, I would say it was more of a one arm machine center, judging by the number of gaming machines that were there.

There I asked for fries, knowing they were about the cheapest you could get from an eating joint. The pretty lady took some time in preparing the stuff. Meanwhile, she had given me a glass of chilled water to cool off.

When the fries finally came, they were the way I liked them. Crispy!

I didn’t waste time in demolishing the dish. I even took time in helping to pick the crumbs that dropped into the plate.

Ati jelede yungba yungba!

Then it was time for payment. I didn’t have cash. However, I did have a debit card. After the calculation and tax which I agreed with, the pretty lady was then schooling me on tips. I replied her that if I had paid in cash, would she have been looking forward to a tip?

I blatantly told her that I didn’t have cash and the monetary value on the debit card was low. She wanted to show me Lagos.

A fact is that one is under no obligation to tip. However, if one doesn’t have and wants to pretend, that’s their own business.
