These guys could be described in YoruEnglish as 2 ge 4!
Ever since I knew them, they’ve been Christians. Not the nominal Daraprim types o.
In those days, Daraprim used to be a fever drug that was used on Sundays. These ones are babanla born again!
Note that I didn’t say born against!!
When we were in school, the Deeper Life Ministries adopted some of the classrooms into a camp during midterms. Whenever a camp takes place, of course, attendees would be fed spiritually and physically.
While some of us would, when it was time for the physical food, pretend as if we were part of the campers, and the campers too, being so filled with the spiritual food that hardly would they have time for physical food, would be more than willing to let us have the food.
Please note that I used a collective phrase, ‘some of us’. I didn’t necessarily refer to myself.
While we were busy lining up for food, these guys would even come and satisfy our needs. I must note that some of us would even dress as formally as possible.
In class, some of us would taunt them. We would sometimes do things that would have made them denounce the Savior, but these guys dey kampe.
We’ve left school for some forty years now, and these guys are still spiritual brothers. One peculiar thing about them is that even though they don’t belong to the same denomination, they do believe in Christ the Jesus.
Of course, they would be having disagreements, but we don’t know when such happen and how they’re settled.
I guess they’ll just settle whatever disagreements they have with each other by using a bible passage.
And that will be that!
For pastors Femi Okeowo and Olusola Ajibola, it’s been a worthwhile journey in His grace!
