The Tethered Hen! – Adewale Sobowale

I belong to a Facebook group that had a party last year. The party was successful in various ways, so the group decided to hold another one in December.

Well, people should celebrate!

But one thing that makes me silly is that some of their acquaintances were talking of gatecrashing. I used the word acquaintances guardedly.

I ought to have called them members.

But tanni ni member osi!

If, at my age, I would be thinking of gatecrashing into a party, I believe I should submit myself for treatment by a shrinker!

Personally, I worked in a place that had halls where people went to celebrate events. There were so many times that people I knew would even invite me, but I wouldn’t go. Some of them just concluded that I was proud. Oh well, I have chosen to live my life to please myself and my creator.

No manager of the hall was not friends with me. But our friendship wouldn’t have gotten to the level of my looking forward to gatecrashing into parties.

I wonder what those who, at an elderly age, gatecrash into parties are instructing their children. We know that human behaviour is, to a large extent, t learnt.

So, if the father is gatecrashing into parties, what do you expect of the children?
