A refugee returned to live in Kyiv rather than stay there, and she was offered a place in Swansea due to its unacceptable conditions.
BBC reports that Taisiia, aged 35, returned to her besieged home country for 21 days with her seven-month-old daughter because “it felt a better option.”
However, she has since returned to Wale to help volunteers renovate her home. She said they are the reason they can now stay safe in Wales.
Swansea Council said the kitchen and the bathroom had been upgraded. Walls were also plastered while painting and decorating materials were also provided.
Mother and daughter arrived in Swansea in June 2922. But her husband remained in Kyiv.
